About CWC Plyboards

Layers of trust since 1980.

A 44-year-old plywood house, led by the second generation, supplying IS-certified boards to dealers across India.

Inside the CWC Plyboards factory

The CWC Saga

A distributor that grew into a brand.

The company began in 1980 as the National Plywood Centre — a plywood distributor with offices across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu. The principle was simple: never compromise on quality, and never short-change a customer.

Under its founder, Mr. Shivkumar G. Chandak, the business grew steadily — first into more states, then into manufacturing. The team and the trade developed a shared expertise: which timbers cup, which adhesives fail, and which applications call for 18 mm rather than 12.

In 2017 the family rebranded the manufacturing arm as CWC Plyboards Pvt. Ltd. The next generation took charge with new energy and the same uncompromising standard. Today the company supplies a 900-strong dealer network across 8+ states and 8 union territories.

How we got here

Four decades, three chapters.

  1. 1980

    Founded as National Plywood Centre.

A new plywood distribution business under Mr. Shivkumar G. Chandak. Offices opened across Maharashtra, Gujarat, Rajasthan, Goa, Andhra Pradesh, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu — seven states inside the first decade. Quality was the only sales pitch: what was written on the invoice was exactly what arrived on the truck.

  2. 2017

Rebranded as CWC Plyboards Pvt. Ltd.

The next generation stepped into leadership. A new name, the same standard. Manufacturing scaled and the line was consolidated into seven SKUs — Prima, Ultima, Maxima, Suprima, Accord, HDMR and Alfa. The brand became Chetak Ply; the company remained CWC Plyboards.

  3. Today

    900+ dealers · 8+ states · 7 lines.

IS-certified across every grade — marine BWP to film-faced shuttering, with HDMR for modular shutters. One factory, one warranty card, one number on the invoice for every dealer in the country.

A board is only as good as the customer who buys it twice.

What we stand for

Five rules. Forty-four years.

01

Quality first

Every grade is independently certified to the Bureau of Indian Standards. No exceptions, no shortcuts, no field-graded boards.

02

Fair trade

One price for the dealer. One price on the box. Forty-four years of distributor trust says the rule works.

03

Right grade, right job

We refuse to sell BWR where BWP belongs. Cheaper sales today are the brand's problem tomorrow.

04

Written warranty

From ten to twenty-five years — every Chetak board ships with a written warranty registered at the point of sale.

05

Made in India

One factory. Indian timber where it makes sense, imported hardwood where it does. Both stamped CWC, both shipped on the same truck.

06

Long memory

A dealer who bought from us in 1985 still gets the same answer in 2026. Continuity is a kind of quality nobody puts on a spec sheet.
